SUNDAY & SATURDAY SIDES BOTH PLAY ON 1ST 2 WEEKENDS
Weekends of 2 halves have allowed a game each for the saturday and sunday sides. Last weekend Mark's team got things underway; chasing 130 to win but falling short by 30 against Wickham. This weekend Paul took to the field as skipper for the first time and led from the front putting on 100 for the second wicket with Pearcer, 41, making 70 himself. A mid innings lull threatened to see CCC end up on a below par 150, but Phil took control and hit 8 sixes in an undefeated 57 from 33 balls and propelled the target to 223 for Leckford to chase. In reply, the openers took 16 off the first over but got carried away and Leckford ended up all out for 55 by 6pm with the wickets shared between Matt and Simon Pitt and wrapped up by Jacob with the last 2.
Both days required some patience from the batsmen; waiting for the ball to arrive after pitching and stopping on the wet Chawton track but we've been lucky to get any games in at all.
HOG ROAST 2008
This season's hog roast is to be held on 7th June. After last year's wash out we're hoping for some sunshine! Get your tickets now for only £15. Phone Phil on 07850 871734.
SIMON CHANNON JUNIOR COACHING
This year, thanks to Zoe, Tanni and Tina, Chawton CC are hosting junior coaching for 4 to 8 year olds from 5pm to 6pm every Wednesday afternoon, starting on the 23rd April. Please come along and join in the fun. Parents/guardians's are asked to stay at the ground with their children during the hour. Tea and coffee available.
CENTURY CLUB
With 10 monthly draws of £50, £500 in June and the jackpot of £1,000
in November, the Century Club pays out £2,000 every year. But
